Speaker of Parliament, Filimoni Jitoko expressed his condolences with other Members of Parliament after the death of a member of the Immigration Ministry staff at Lagilagi Housing, which is very close to where he lives.

Sainimere Tuinasakea passed away after she was allegedly murdered by her husband on Sunday.

The Speaker says she may have only been an office cleaner, but he has been an office cleaner himself.

He says as you well know, a person's worth of value is not in the level of work he or she does, but in the contribution he or she makes to the wellness of the organisation.

Immigration Minister, Viliame Naupoto had requested a few minutes to mention Tuinasakea, a mother, wife, and a sister.

Naupoto says Sai, as they called her, was a very soft-spoken lady.

She joined the Immigration Ministry family just a little over a month ago.

He says she was their cleaner, a job that is just as important as his.

Naupoto says they send their prayers and love to their family, and he hopes that the very comforting love of God will carry them through at this difficult time. He says this is an incident that can be avoided for families, husbands and wives.

Naupoto says he has been at it for 39 years and we can talk things over instead of doing things that we regret.

He stresses that we are resolute in trying to root out domestic violence in our families.
