The timely donation of five upgraded wheelchairs from the Bank of Baroda is a major boost for patient care, especially for those needing transfers for treatment, examination, and other medical needs.

Colonial War Memorial Hospital’s Medical Superintendent, Dr. Luke Nasedra, says wheelchairs are always in high demand at CWM Hospital due to the high number of patients requiring mobility support.

Dr. Nasedra says the newly donated wheelchairs, featuring updated designs, will significantly improve patient comfort and care.

He says the donation highlights the importance of continued community and stakeholder support in strengthening Fiji’s healthcare system.

Country Head of Bank of Baroda, Udesh Kumar, says the donation is part of the bank’s Foundation Day celebrations and their healthcare-focused CSR initiative, which will continue with a visit and donation to a local orphanage.

He says that as a government bank of India, Bank of Baroda is committed to community development, and these contributions are part of ongoing CSR efforts across all its operating regions.

Kumar adds the donation is a small token of love and commitment to society, and the bank will continue supporting welfare initiatives in Fiji and beyond.
